Abstract

This study is motivated by the problem of students’ abilities in reciting the Qur'an at MTs.S Fadhilah Pekanbaru. There are several problems, for instance: some students cannot apply the rules of reciting the Qur'an properly and correctly, some students cannot recite the Qur'an fluently, and some students rarely recite the Qur'an in daily life. This study aims to investigate whether there is an effect of demonstration method on students’ abilities in reciting the Qur'an in the lessons of the Qur'an Hadith at MTs.S Fadhilah Pekanbaru. The type of the study is quantitative research with a correlational approach. The subject of the study is the students in grade VIII at MTs.S Fadhilah Pekanbaru and the object of the study is the demonstration method on students’ abilities in reciting the Qur'an in the lessons of the Qur’an Hadith in grade VIII at MTs.S Fadhilah Pekanbaru. The population of the study consists of 91 students, with a sample of 91 students. The data collection techniques of the study are questionnaires, tests and documentation. Based on the results of the study, it is found that there is an effect of demonstration method on students’ abiliities in reciting the Qur'an in the lessons of the Qur'an Hadith in grade VIIII at MTs.S Fadhilah Pekanbaru. From the results of simple linear regression analysis, it is known that the significance value is 0.000, because 0.000 is less than 0.05, so the atlernative hypothesis is accepted. The magnitude of the effect of the demonstration method is 0.225 or 25.5% which is categorized as weak, because it is in the range of 0.20-0.399 in the correlation coefficient interpretation table. While the remaining 77.5% is influenced by other factors. Thus, the hypothesis is accepted. The level of the relationship between the demonstration method and the students’ abilities in reciting the Qur'an in the lessons of the Qur'an Hadith in grade VIII at MTs.S Fadhilah Pekanbaru is included in the weak category
