Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the application of biological agents on the growth of lime (Citrus aurantifolia) in vitro. This research was carried out at the Biotechnology Laboratory, Faculty of Agriculture, Islamic University of Riau, Jalan Kaharuddin Nasution Km 11 No. 113 Marpoyan, Air Cold Village, Bukit Raya District, Pekanbaru City. The study was carried out for 4 months from September to December 2021. The design used in this study was a Non-Factoral Completely Randomized Design, namely Biological Agents consisting of 6 treatments, namely without biological agents, Beauveria bassiana, Plant Growth Promoting Rhizobacteria, Trichoderma sp., Pseudomonas fluorescens, and Eco enzymes. The parameters observed were the percentage of live explants, the percentage of explants sprouted, the percentage of rooted explants, the number of shoots, shoot height, number of roots, number of leaves and number of contaminated explants. Observational data were analyzed statistically and continued with the BNJ further test at the 5% level. The results showed that biological agents had a significant effect on the observation parameters of the percentage of explants forming shoots, the percentage of explants forming roots, number of shoots, shoot height, number of roots, number of leaves and number of contaminated explants. Meanwhile, it did not have a significant effect on the observation parameters of the percentage of live explants. The best treatment was Pseudomonas fluorescens.
