Abstract

This research was carried out for 14 days starting on 08-21 February 2022 at the Fish Seed Center (BBI) Faculty of Agriculture, Islamic University of Riau, Pekanbaru with the aim of knowing the effect of different frequencies with giving golden snail paste on the survival and growth of baung fish (H. nemurus). The method used is an experimental method using Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 5 treatments and 3 replications, namely: P1 = 2 times per day, P2 = 3 times per day, P3 = 4 times per day, P4 = 5 times per day and P5 = 6 times per day feeding gold snail paste 10% of the body weight of the fish. The test fish used were 21 days old baung fish with an average weight of 0.23 g and a length of 2.30 cm. Baung fish seeds were obtained from artificial spawning at the Fish Seed Center (BBI) of the Islamic University of Riau, Jalan Kasang Kulim Teropong, Kubang Raya Village, Siak Hulu Kampar District. The containers used are jars with a capacity of 10 liters totaling 15 pieces. From the results of the study, the highest average survival rate was P4 = 80% and the lowest was P1 = 40%. The highest average absolute weight growth was P4 = 0.19 g and the lowest was P1 = 0.07 g. The highest absolute length growth average was P4 = 1.03 cm and the lowest was P1 = 0.63 cm. The highest average daily growth rate is P4 = 0.67% and the lowest is P1 = 0.24%. The best average feed conversion value is P4 = 1.33%. Water quality parameters are: Temperature 28 – 39 C, pH 6 – 7, Dissolved Oxygen 5.5 -6.4 ppm and Ammonia (NH3) 2.28 – 3.17 ppm.
