Abstract

This research was conducted in the experimental garden of the Riau Islamic University Faculty of Agriculture, Jalan Kaharuddin Nasution Km 11, Airingin Village, Bukit Raya District, Pekanbaru City. This research was conducted from December 2019 to April 2020. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the interaction between vermicompost fertilizer and NPK 16:16:16 on the growth and yield of white turmeric. The experimental design used in this study was a factorial Completely Randomized Design (CRD) consisting of 2 factors, the first factor was the provision of vermicompost fertilizer (K) consisting of 4 levels, namely 75, 150, 225 g / polybag and the second factor was the provision of NPK 16: 16:16 (N) which consists of 4 levels, namely 2.25, 4.5, 6.75 g / polybag, so there are 16 treatment combinations. Each treatment combination consisted of 3 replications in order to obtain 48 experimental units (plots). Each plot consisted of 4 plants and 2 plants as observation samples, so that the total number was 192 plants. The results showed that the interaction between vermicompost fertilizer and NPK 16:16:16 had a significant effect on all parameters. The best treatment was produced by vermicompost 150 g / polybag and NPK 16:16:16 4,5 g / polybag. The main effect of vermicompost giving a significant effect on all parameters with the best treatment was 150 g / polybag. The main effect of giving NPK 16:16:16 gives a significant effect on all parameters with the best treatment NPK 16:16:16 as much as 4.5 g / polybag.
