Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of work performance on the promotion of employees of the Regional Development Planning Board of the Rokan Hilir Regency Government. The indicators of work performance in this study are the results of work, knowledge, initiative, dexterity, attitude, and discipline. While the indicators for promotion are work performance, responsibility, seniority, skills, and competencies. The method used in this research is descriptive quantitative method, in which data collection is done using interview, documentation and questionnaire techniques. There is a population of 60 people and a sample of 37 people according to predetermined criteria. The result of this research is that work performance has a value of t count = 8,992> t table = 2,030 with a significant level of 0.000 < 0.05, then H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted. So that Job Performance affects the Promotion of Position. seen from the results of the coefficient of determination, the magnitude of R Square is 0.698. The results of these statistical calculations can be interpreted as the ability of the independent variable (Work Achievement) in explaining changes in the dependent variable (Position Promotion) of 69.8%, the remaining 30.2% is explained by other variables outside the analyzed regression model.
