Abstract

Abstract Analysis of Human Value on Photos / Images of Fire Disaster on the Front Page of the Riau Pos Daily Newspaper Edition (1 Month) Syamsul David Al Hakim 139110095 This research is motivated by the meaning contained in the headlines attached to the newspaper, especially when reporting the fire disaster, therefore the researcher sees this meaning through Ferdinand De Saussure's Semiotics through signs, markers and markers. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative with the observation process and the results of the research in this study contain values such as human values, values of peace, values of love, true behavior and without power. Riau Pos in carrying out its journalistic activities, clearly provides information about the general condition of Pekanbaru City during the danger of thick fog. And it can be seen that the Headline attached to the news shows that the Riau Post editorial staff through pictures, choice of pictures, coloring and lighting as well as the characters attached to the pictures show that dangerous conditions are being experienced by Pekanbaru City. This is shown from the disruption of all the life of the community both in terms of transportation, activities and other lives. Through the semiotic approach, signs, markers and markers look very prominent both in the form of the symbol displayed and the meaning conveyed. So that through the pictures and emphasized by the semiotic study, the journalistic images presented by the Riau Pos team are very easy for the wider community to understand.
