Abstract
Problems Land changes in the border area of the Sail river sub-watershed in Pekanbaru City which occur in line with the increasing population growth which directly impacts on the increasing need for land. The growth of buildings on the river border continues to change, given the high demand for land which continues to increase every year. The purpose of this study was to analyze trends in land use changes and directions related to land use changes at the Sail Sub-watershed border. The analysis was carried out by identifying changes in land use from nonbuilt to built using the Superimpose analysis on the River Basin area of the Sail Subwatershed from 2007 to 2017. The data used is the Landsat image map of the Sail sub-watershed. The image map is an image map that has high resolution. Then the identification of factors that influence changes in land use in the River Basin area in the Sail Sub-watershed is identified, then determined using the interview method. The analysis of the Superimpose results shows that the land built in the River Basin area of the Sail Sub-watershed from 2007 to 2017 has increased. The area of land built in 2017 reached 13.93 Ha. The development of land use changes that dominate the border of the Sail sub-watershed is an increase in the number of settlements and trade and service areas, which are spread over 7 Districts of Pekanbaru City. The areas with the highest land use change were Tenayan Raya and Marpoyan Damai Districts. Areas with the least land use change included Limapuluh District, Sail District, and Bukit Raya District. Meanwhile, the areas where the land cover did not change were Sukajadi district.
