Abstract

The aim of the study was to determine the effect of bovine tricho rumen compost and Herbafarm on the growth and yield of tomato plants. This research was conducted at the Experimental Garden of the Faculty of Agriculture, Islamic University of Riau, Jalan Kaharuddin Nasution No. 113, Air Cold Village, Bukit Raya District, Pekanbaru City. This research was carried out for 4 months starting from May to August 2021. This study used a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) which consisted of two factors, the first factor was the provision of Cow Rumen Tricho Compost (K) and the second factor was the provision of Herbafarm (H) which each each consisting of 4 levels of treatment. Parameters observed were plant height, flowering age, number of flowers to pistil, harvest age, number of productive branches, number of fruit per plant, fruit weight per plant, number of remaining fruits, and harvest index. The research data were analyzed statistically and continued with the 5% BNJ test. The results showed that the interaction of Tricho Rumen Cow Compost and Herbafarm had an effect on the parameters of plant height, flowering age, number of fruits per plant, and fruit weight per plant. The best treatment was found at a dose of compost Tricho rumen cattle 2400 g/plot and Herbafarm concentration 12 ml/l water (K3H3). The main factor of cow's rumen Tricho compost has an effect on all observation parameters. The best treatment was found at a dose of bovine tricho rumen compost 2400 g/plot (K3). Herbafarm's main factors affect the parameters of plant height, flowering age, number of flowers to pistil, harvest age, number of productive branches, number of fruit planted, weight of planted fruit, and number of leftover fruit. The best treatment was found at the Herbafarm dose of 12 ml/l water (H3).
