Abstract

The government plays a role in supervising the implementation of consumer protection in accordance with Article 30 of Law Number 8 of 1999 concerning Consumer Protection, namely the supervision of the implementation of consumer protection, and the implementation of the provisions of the laws and regulations carried out by the government, the community, and non-governmental consumer protection organizations. Currently, there are still many foods circulating in the community, especially in the morning arengka market, which do not heed the provisions on labeling, thus causing public anxiety. Protection of consumers is carried out by the government in terms of guidance and supervision in the context of consumer protection to ensure consumers' rights to information and security in consuming processed household food. The main problem of this research is the first, How is the Implementation of Supervision of Consumer Rights to Information and Security in Consuming Home Industry Food in Pekanbaru City? and the second is, What are the obstacles to the Implementation of Supervision of Consumer Rights to Information and Security in Consuming Home Industry Food in Pekanbaru City? The research method used in this study is to use observational research, with data collection techniques, namely by questionnaires and interviews. Judging from the nature of this research, including descriptive research, namely research that provides a detailed and clear description of the main research problems. The results of the discussion of this study are the implementation of monitoring the rights of consumers to information and security in consuming home industry food in Pekanbaru City. can not be said to have been effective. There is still home industry food that is circulating freely in the market, especially in Pekanbaru City. Constraints faced by related agencies in the right of consumers to information and security in consuming home industry food in Pekanbaru City, both internal aspects, namely limited staff, monitoring which is carried out periodically and randomly, causing the existence of household industrial food products apart from supervision, as well as external, namely the lack of strict supervision system carried out by the relevant agencies as a support for the supervision carried out by the related offices
