Abstract

Often found the main material in the manufacture of a construction such as in the construction of roads, bridges, buildings and retaining walls is concrete. Cement is one of the building blocks of concrete, where the oxide content in cement consists of lime (CaO) 60%-70%, silica (SiO2) 17%-25%, which content is also found in oil palm fiber ash which consists of silica. (SiO2) of 38.2%, lime (CaO) 12% which is known from testing at UPT. Diponegoro University Laboratory. Oil palm fiber is a waste generated from processing oil palm fruit squeezes in the press process, oil palm fiber is usually thrown away. This study aims to determine the effect of adding oil palm fiber to the compressive strength of concrete. Oil palm fiber ash is used as a partial replacement for cement, with a mixture composition of 15% and 20% oil palm fiber ash. This research uses SNI 03-2834-2000 for concrete mix design. The specimens were cylinders with a diameter of 15 cm and a height of 30 cm, the specimens were treated at the age of 7 days, 14 days and 28 days. The average compressive strength of concrete without the addition of oil palm fiber ash aged 28 days is 130.566 kg/cm2. The addition of oil palm fiber ash with a percentage of 15% can increase the compressive strength of concrete from the design quality K-125 with a concrete compressive strength value of 188,719 kg/cm2, while at a percentage of 20% the addition of oil palm fiber ash the value of the compressive strength of concrete decreases compared to a percentage of 15%. but still reached the design quality of K-125 with a concrete compressive strength value of 125,510 kg/cm2. It can be concluded that oil palm fiber ash can be used in K-125 quality concrete mix.
