Abstract

In overcoming and reducing malnutrition cases in Pekanbaru City, the health department has made various efforts in this malnutrition case, so that it can reach the target of below 1%. The form of action taken by the Pekanbaru City Health Office regarding malnutrition cases. In addition to the actions that have been taken, the Pekanbaru City Health Office continues to make optimum cooperation with related agencies involved in handling this malnutrition case, such as with health centers, cadres in each region, and with the sub-district. So that the case of malnutrition can always be handled quickly, precisely, and later will be able to reduce the case of malnutrition in the city of Pekanbaru. The purpose of this research is to analyze and explain the implementation of community nutrition programs that have been well fulfilled and their constraints. The method used is descriptive and qualitative methods. The informants in this study were the Head of Health Section of the Pekanbaru Health Office, the Head of the Community Nutrition Section, the Head of the Community Health Center of three people, as many as two Service Officers and the parents of infants affected by malnutrition. Data collection techniques are interviews, observation and documentation. This study concludes that the implementation of the Community Nutrition Improvement Program by the Pekanbaru City Health Office has not been fully implemented. This can be seen from the planning of activities that have been made, not all activities have a budget, both APBD and APBN, because of the existing budget constraints and prioritizing budgeting for planned activities can more quickly reduce malnutrition so that the implementation of nutrition improvement for the City of Pakanbaru can decrease the number of malnutrition cases, the presence of several inactive posyandu, this indicates the lack of the role of cadres to help the success of the program. The obstacles are the lack of budget, the quality of posyandu services that are not active and the role of the community that is not active.
