Abstract
The Meaning of the Wages Procession in the Angkola Batak Tribe Wedding Ceremony in Duri, Mandau District Aprilia Liana 189110255 This study aims to determine the meaning of the procession of wages in the wedding ceremony of the Angkola Batak tribe in Duri of Mandau sub-district. In this study, researchers using descriptive qualitative method with representation theory. Conduct interviews with traditional leaders and indigenous peoples who understand the wage-wages process, as well as make direct observations. The results of this study contained procession in the process of wages, namely the feelings of pleasure for the parents of the bride and groom and conveying prayers, hopes and advice for married life, both from dishes and other processes. Then there is the meaning of procession on each dish of wages in the form of curry chicken, boiled free-range chicken eggs, fish, shrimp, white rice, salt, which are on a banana leaf on a tray.
