Abstract

The coastal area is considered to be very productive and has the potential to be managed and has abundant natural resources. The coastal area of Air Bangis has the potential for natural fisheries resources, which is located in Nagari Air Bangis, Sungai Beremas District, West Pasaman Regency. According to the 2017 Fisheries Service Statistics, Air Bangis Beach is the largest fishing area in West Pasaman Kapubaten with a total of 99,392.00 tons. This study aims to determine the potential of fisheries using qualitative descriptive analysis methods and to determine the characteristics of fisheries agribusiness using qualitative and quantitative descriptive analysis methods with Likert scale calculations, as well as knowing the direction of coastal development through fisheries agribusiness using the IFAS EFAS analysis method. This study uses primary data in the form of field observations, interviews and questionnaires and secondary data in the form of related documents. The results showed that the highest fish commodity was anchovies as much as 12,182 kg / month. The results of the analysis show that the primary fishery production activities for the type of raw material that are most widely used are fish with a score of 98.3%, while the places for taking the raw materials are fishermen and fish auction sites with scores of 96.6% and 92. 6%. From the procurement and distribution of production facilities, the highest involvement and cooperation is from fishermen groups and the private sector with a score of 66.6%, for production facilities that are sufficient are ships with a value of 87.6% and styrofoam fishing boxes with 84%. The workforce of 7-9 people with a score of 89.3%, for processing methods using traditional methods with a score of 95% with the highest processed result is salted fish with a score of 91.3%. Meanwhile, the processing time depends on the fish or stock of goods, for processing capital uses its own capital with a score of 91.3%. Judging from the marketing activities, the availability of market locations is quite fulfilled for the surrounding community, obtained with a score of 78.3%, while the processors sell their processed products to wholesalers with a score of 94.6% in Nagari Air Bangis, Sungai Beremas District. Meanwhile, based on the results of the IFAS EFAS analysis, there are six strategies based on the weighting total priority, namely; (a) Development of potential; (b) Training and mentoring, (c) Providing understanding; (d) Additional tours; (e) Increase public awareness, and (f) Repair of facilities and infrastructure. The suggestion for this research is to realize the development of coastal areas through fisheries potential.
