Abstract

This study aims to determine students' perceptions of the role of the TOGA garden in increasing students' knowledge of medicinal plants at SMAS PGRI Pekanbaru in the 2021/2022 academic year. This study uses a descriptive survey method with a quantitative approach. Data was collected by distributing questionnaires and interviews. The questionnaire distributed consisted of 40 statements originating from 2 indicators which were evaluated using the Likert scale and the Guttman scale. The sampling technique used was saturated sampling technique. The population in this study were all students of class X MIPA at SMAS PGRI Pekanbaru, Academic Year 2021/2022, while the sample in this study was 63 students who were all members of the population. Based on the results of descriptive data analysis of 2 indicators, the percentage on the indicator of the role of the TOGA garden in increasing students' knowledge is 82.61% which belongs to the good category and the percentage on the indicator of increasing student knowledge about medicinal plants is 77.94% which is also in the good category. , this shows that there is a balance between students' perceptions of the role of the TOGA garden in increasing students' knowledge of medicinal plants, so it can be concluded that the TOGA garden has a role in increasing students' knowledge of medicinal plants at SMAS PGRI Pekanbaru in the 2021/2022 academic year as seen from the results of students' perceptions of the role of the TOGA garden in increasing students' knowledge about medicinal plants with the achievement of the percentage obtained that is equal to 80.28% in the good category.
