Abstract
Unpleasant scenery has again colored the city of Pekanbaru as the capital of Riau Province. The waste problem seems to have never been resolved properly. Almost in every corner of the city garbage has piled up again, causing public complaints against the government because it is considered negligent in handling this problem. The purpose of this study is to find out how the Public Relations Strategy of the Pekanbaru City Government in Overcoming Public Complaints Against Waste Management. Discusses the strategy implemented by the Public Relations of the Pekanbaru City Government and how the efforts and actions of the City Government are to solve this problem. This study uses a qualitative descriptive research method by conducting direct and in-depth interviews with the Public Relations of the Pekanbaru City Government. The results of research conducted in the field show that the Pekanbaru City Government's public relations strategy is carried out through approaches and activities in collaboration with various parties such as related agencies, utilizing mass media, and going directly to the community, and several other efforts are also deployed by the government such as looking for new companies. for garbage collectors, and take action on the perpetrators of littering.
