Abstract
Competition in the aviation industry in Indonesia is getting tougher with the application of low fares (low fare). The impact of this has caused a tariff war between airline operators, especially airlines Lion Air and Citilink in fighting over passengers. But, sometimes the price offered by an airline is lower than the operational cost of the aircraft itself. Of course there is nothing wrong with low plane ticket prices, as long as the airline balances it with quality service well. The main problem in this research is How is Competition Unhealthy in Determining Fares on Lion Air Airlines and Citilink in Pekanbaru City According to Law Number 5 of 1999 About Prohibition of Monopolistic Practices and Unfair Competition How Problems Arise In Determining Ticket Fares On Lion Air and Citilink Airlines in Pekanbaru City. This research can be classified as observational research by survey. The nature of this research is descriptive facts researched in the field. The data used are primary data and data secondary. Determination of Rates on Lion Air and Citilink Airlines in Pekanbaru City According to Law Number 5 Year 1999 Regarding Prohibition of Monopolistic Practices and Unfair Competition is where determined from the lower limit tariff applied at least 40% of the upper limit tariff, this has been determined by the Minister of Transportation and Problems Arising In Determining Fares For Airlines Lion Air and Citilink in Pekanbaru City are based on the tendency of consumers towards cheap flight rates that can indicates the dominant use of aviation services at prices that are affordable and the use of these dominant positions greatly influences other airlines that do not use discount patterns from low fares flights that have been determined by flight regulations so the problem arises from the policies of every other airline to find solutions for consumers to stay on their flight services, and can result in reduced services provided by airlines.
