Abstract

Time management is the essential part of every project activity. The prospect of project waste and failure would be even greater without having optimal time management. In every project implementation it is necessary to have a good project scheduling management. A project is called “good�, if the accomplishment of project could be efficiently controlled in the terms of time, therefore it is needed to find the best way in order with the accomplishment of the project could be done quickly to meet the community needs. The aim of this study was to find out critical activities, total duration and duration after using the crashing method so that it could be seen how was the time management in the implementation of the housing project type 36 Asmara Residence in Pekanbaru. This study used the critical part method, to get the total duration and time management in accelerating project implementation. The total duration gained from the critical part method would be crashed to determine the acceleration of time as quickly as possible. The results of the study by using the critical path method showed that critical path on housing development project in Asmara Residence, then the total float calculation based on the work network symbolized by the letter A,E,F,G,H,M,N,P,Q and B,C,D,I obtain the critical path. The total duration after using the critical path method (CPM) in the implementation of housing development project the Asmara Residence type 36 was 25 calendar days. The results of comparison in normal duration, critical part method analysis and crashing analysis (1-day crashing, 2-day crashing, and 3-day crashing) could be seen that the normal duration value was 30 days, the critical part method analysis value was 25 days, the crashing analysis value 1-day was 22 days, 2-day crashing analysis was 21 days and 3 day crashing analysis was 22 days. Analysis of Time management on the housing project type 36 Asmara Residence could be used from relation to the critical part method activity which produced the change from normal duration and more time acceleration that occurred in the 2-day crashing analysis, which was 21 days.
