Abstract

This research is a research on the application of accounting in cooperatives. The background of the research is carried out in cooperatives because cooperatives are social organizations that are able to prosper members based on kinship and common property. The research took place at the Hasrat Jaya Pagaruyung Village Unit Cooperative (KUD), Tapung District, Kampar Riau Regency because this KUD is very influential on the economy of the members and especially the community around the KUD. So that the purpose of this research is to find out how the application of accounting at KUD Hasrat Jaya to be better in the future. This research uses qualitative methods with data collection through interviews and documentation. The analysis was carried out by searching and systematically arranging the data that had been obtained. This analysis is inductive, that is, a way of drawing conclusions by departing from specific facts towards general conclusions. The results showed that KUD Hasrat Jaya has not implemented accounting in accordance with generally accepted accounting standards. Things that are not in accordance with standards, such as; Incomplete recording and financial reporting processes, and the need to increase the soft skills of the management for the progress of cooperatives in the future.
