Abstract

Every organization, both public and private, leadership style always affects employee performance, a person's style of leading is one of the benchmarks for the progress and decline of an organization. The ability to give primary attention to human resources is a factor that will determine the survival of an organization in order to achieve the goals that have been set. However, the problem of human resources is a challenge for management because the success of management depends on the quality of human resources. If the human resources in the organization can run effectively, the organization will continue to run effectively, in other words, the survival of the organization depends on the performance of employees. Employee performance in an organization can be influenced by various factors including leadership style and employee motivation. Where leadership style and motivation can affect employee behaviors in an organization. The main purpose of this study was to determine and analyze the influence of Leadership Style and Human Resource Competence on Employee Performance at the Library and Archives Service of Rokan Hulu Regency. The type of research used in this study is quantitative using an associative explanatory approach. The number of research respondents was 41 people with the Head of Service as the key informant. Data collection techniques using questionnaires and interviews and analysis using SPSS 22. The results of research on the influence of leadership style and HR competence on employee performance indicate that the better the leadership style and competence of human resources at the Rokan Hulu Regency Library and Archives Service, the better the employee performance. The results obtained, on the contrary, the lower the level of HR Competency leadership style, the lower the performance of the Library and Archives Service Officer of Rokan Hulu Regency.
