Abstract

This study aims to find out how communication management in handling waste problems by the Environment and Hygiene Office of Indragiri Hilir Regency through the waste bank program. This research focuses more on the regions that have run the waste bank program then on the implementation of communication management carried out by the Environment and Hygiene Office of Indragiri Hilir Regency in the waste bank program. This study uses a qualitative method with a descriptive approach regarding the symptoms that are being observed. The data collection techniques used in this study were interviews and documentation. In this study, the subjects were 6 people with 3 main informants in the implementation of the waste bank program, then informants from the community as well as waste bank managers. In communication management carried out by the Environment and Hygiene Service starting from the stage of problem identification, communication planning, action and communication as well as evaluation, which this activity also involves the community. The results of this study show that the waste bank program can be implemented because the communication management is quite good, it's just that in some parts the communication management needs to be optimized.
