Abstract

Learning independence is the ability to learn based on a sense of responsibility, self-confidence, initiative, and self-motivation with or without the help of other relevant people to master certain competencies, both in terms of knowledge, skills and attitudes that can be used to solve learning problems. Independent learning can arise with the functioning of the family. This study aims to determine the relationship between family functioning and student learning independence in online learning. The subjects of this study were students of SMPN X as many as 102 subjects. The subject-taking technique used is random sampling. The measuring instrument used is the scale of learning independence and family functioning. The analysis used in this study is the Pearson product moment correlation. The results of statistical analysis show the value of r=0.353** with a value of Sig= 0.000 (p<0.05), meaning that there is a relationship between family functioning and student learning independence in online learning at SMPN 001 Pendalian IV Koto, Rohul. Family functioning contributes 12.5% ??to independent learning. The remaining 87.5% is influenced by other factors. The higher the functioning of the family, the higher the learning independence of students in online learning, and vice versa.
