Abstract

Field X, which is located on the east side of the South Sumatra Basin, has a recovery factor (RF) of 14% from Original Oil in Place (OOIP). As for the amount of production in this field is difficult to. Efforts that can be made to increase oil production are by optimizing the field, namely by EOR Screening. The EOR screening carried out is the compatibility test which is carried out to find out how much compatibility is between the surfactant and formation water and the Phase Behavior Test which is carried out to determine the IFT value and the effectiveness of the surfactant solution being tested. This study used 4 surfactants at a compatibility test concentration of 0.075 % v?v – 1.2% v?v and a phase behavior test concentration of 0.025 % v?v – 2% v?v (crude oil TAF B and crude oil TAF C) with salinity range of 5,000 ppm to 35,000 ppm. Based on the results of the compatibility test that passed this test, almost every sample of surfactant solution produced one phase and was clear. However, the EY1 surfactant sample solution with a concentration of 0.6, 0.9 and 1.2% did not pass the test because it produced a cloudy solution and a precipitate. In the phase behavior test using formation water, none of the samples produced a type III microemulsion but for the test with a salinity range of 5,000 ppm to 35,000 ppm all samples produced an indication of a type III microemulsion
