Abstract

The development of network technology is getting bigger, of course it requires even faster speed by doing a configuration mechanism to build an internet network called routing. The bigger the network, the better network technology is needed with the emergence of Software Defined Network (SDN) which is a new concept used to overcome traditional network problems by separating the control plane and data plane in a different device. The communication between the control plane and the data plane uses the openflow protocol. SDN has several capabilities in many network technology methods such as routing, so that with this SDN, it is expected to be able to carry out the methods found in conventional networks. Simulation of SDN network and Conventional network are made with the same topology, and the average value of each TCP measurement parameter is Throughput, Delay, and Jitter. In the throughput performance test, the SDN network has a transfer speed value of 85.310 kbit/s and the SDN network has a smaller Delay performance value with an overall value of 380 ms. Meanwhile, the Jitter performance of the SDN network has a packet delivery queue range of 0.00001 ms.
