Abstract

Children are the future of the nation and the next generation of the ideals of the nations so that they are entiled to survival, grow, develop, participate, and are entitled to selfprotection of acts of violence and discrimination. In Indonesia, cases of human rights violations against children can be said to be quite alarming, one of which is the exploitation of children. This happens in the city of Pekanbaru, many cases of exploitation even many of them are employed directly by their parents. As for the type of research included in qualitative research with the aim of describing the actual situation of what is happening at the study site though the collection identification, and always of data, so that an answer to the problem is formulated. The key informants of this study were the perpetrators, while the informants were the head of the child protection division at the city of Pekanbaru social services, social workers of the city social services Pekanbaru, head of the household, community leaders and victims. The results of the interviews that the authors get are the perpetrators doing exploitation due to several factors, namely economic factors, their belief that they have the right to regulate the life of the child and also the child feels comfortable to do the work. To minimize this case, the community is expected to be more sensitive to this case and also the need for decisiveness from the government to deal with cases of exploitation so that more children are not exploited by their parents.
