Abstract

This research was guided by Dr. Ir. Marliati, M., Si and Dr. Hamdi Agustin, SE., MM Honey bee farming is a business of developing and selling honey bee products. These efforts are made to meet the growing demand for honey products. The large demand for honey has not been matched by the ability of the beekeeping industry to increase honey production, so to overcome this condition, honey bee business development needs to be carried out. This study aims to: 1) Analyzing characteristics of entrepreneurs, traders and business profiles of honey bees in Bantan District, Bengkalis Regency, Riau Province 2) Subsystem for providing honey bee production facilities in Bantan District, Bengkalis Regency, Riau Province, 3) Honey bee farming subsystem in Bantan District, Bengkalis Regency Riau Province, 4) Honey bee marketing subsystem in Bantan District, Bengkalis Regency, Riau Province, 5) Honey bee supporting institutional subsystem in Bantan District, Bengkalis Regency, Riau Province, 6) Honey bee development strategy in Bantan District, Bengkalis Regency, Riau Province. The research method used is a survey research method located in Bantan District, Bengkalis Regency, Riau Province. The type of data used is primary data. The results show that 1) The age of entrepreneurs and traders is between 15-64 years, the level of education of entrepreneurs is high school and the level of education of traders is junior high school with a trader's business experience is 5 years, and the length of experience of a trader's business is 7.3 years, with the form of business being a self-owned business. . 2) The subsystem for providing production advice consists of the provision of stup, provision of seeds and provision of land. The provision of production facilities is in accordance with 6T but on time it is still relatively low. 3) Farming subsystems that have been carried out have not met the SOP, the use of production factors for seed entrepreneurs uses 15 seeds, a workforce of 41.19 HOK/year and the equipment used is safety clothes, gloves, knives, funnels, bee brushes and other equipment. The total cost of farming is Rp. 33.986.800.00/year with a net income of Rp. 44.205.211.52/year RCR obtained is 2,30. RCR>1 which means profitable. 4) The marketing subsystem has 2 marketing channels, namely bee entrepreneurs to retailers and retailers to final consumers. Entrepreneurs direct to end consumers. Marketing costs in the business are Rp. 1.700.00/liter with a margin of Rp. 55.443.00/liter, marketing efficiency is 0.74% and farmer's share is 75%. 5) Supporting institutions in the honey bee business are forestry extension workers who have played a role and function well to increase farmers' income. 6) The strategy of developing honey bees is obtained by SO strategy, namely maintaining food sources and product continuity as well as livestock populations, utilizing technology and maximizing promotion.
