Abstract

This study aims to determine the role of the teacher as an educator in the formation of the discipline charater of elementary school students. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative. Data collection techniques and instruments are interviews, observations and documentation. Testing the validity of the data using time triangulation, source triangulation and technical triangulation. The data analysis techniques used are data reduction, data presentation and conclusions. The conclusion of this study is that there are five roles of teachers in shaping the character of students dicipline, namely being an example to form the value of order, being an example to forming the value of order, being an example to forming the value of order, being an example to form the value of obedience and be an example to form the value of loyalty. As well as by teachers in crrying out their roles to shape the disciplined character od students, namely there are still teachers who have not arreved on time to school and have not obeyed the dress code according to the rules at school so that it affects the sense of discipline that exists in students.
