Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of two-dimensional art learning (illustration) using the scientific approach learning method in class VIII students of SMP Negeri 4 Pekanbaru, Riau Province. The research method used in this research is descriptive method with qualitative data. Data collection techniques used are observation, interviews and documentation. The subjects in this study were 1 teacher of arts and culture and 39 students of class VIII.7. In the implementation of learning, teachers are guided by the curriculum, syllabus, lesson plans, facilities and infrastructure, learning methods and evaluation. The results of this study indicate that in the implementation of cultural arts learning (drawing illustrations), the teacher uses the 2013 curriculum, the syllabus is in accordance with the curriculum used by the school and the written lesson plans are based on the curriculum and syllabus. The material studied by students in the subject of cultural arts is drawing illustrations. In the illustration drawing material, students are required to be able to present drawing illustrations. The evaluation used by the teacher is in accordance with K13 which consists of three domains, the effective domain (attitude), cognitive (knowledge) and psychomotor (skills). Overall students are able to do well according to their talents.
