Abstract

Code switching is an existing song or language variant in the speech of a bilingual or multilingual society in a language. Code switching often occurs in every speech, especially in events Black and White episode of “The Scheunemann”, a fluent German family Java. This is because they themselves are an old German family live in Indonesia and speak many languages, especially Javanese. Problem adopted from this research, namely: 1) What are the types of code switching in Black and White episode ”The Scheunemann, fluent German family in Javanese”?, 2) What are the factors that cause code switching? in the Black and White episode “The Scheunemann, a fluent German family Javanese language"?. The purpose of this problem is to describe, conclude, and interpret the types of code switching in the Black and White episode “The Scheunemann, a fluent German family Javanese” and to describe, analyze, conclude and interpreting the factors causing the code-switching contained in the Black and White episode ”The Scheunemann, fluent German family Javanese language". This study uses the theory proposed by: Suandi (2014) as well as supporting theories related to code switching. The approach and method used in this research is the approach qualitative method with content analysis (content analysis). From the results of the analysis that carried out, there are 45 utterances which are code-switching speeches. Results The research shows that: 1) the type of code switching contained in the program Black and White episode of “The Scheunemann”, a fluent German familyJava as many as 39 utterances identified as inward code switching and 6 other code-switching utterances are identified as external code-switching. 2) factor There are 14 causes of code switching, namely: (1) the speaker and the speaker's personality there are 10 utterances, (2) changes in speech situation there is 1 utterance, (3) transition the subject of the conversation there are 7 utterances, (4) evoke a sense of humor there are 3 utterances, (5) the variety and level of speech language there are 6 utterances, (6) for just prestigious, there are 4 utterances, (7) there is a sense of familiarity there are 2 utterances, (8) there is 1 utterance of rejection, (9) curiosity there are 2 utterances, (10) adapting to the interlocutor there are 3 utterances, (11) there are challenges from the interlocutor has 3 utterances, (12) states that there is 1 utterance, (13) affirmation of speech there is 1 utterance, and (14) to divert the subject there is 1 speech. The conclusions contained in this study namely: 1) there are 45 code switching utterances; 39 inward code switching and 6 inward code switching outside, 2) there are 14 factors that cause code switching.
