Abstract

Briquette is an alternative fuel in solid form that serves as a medium for a flame to replace fossil fuels. The process of making briquettes goes through several stages, namely the collection of materials, the carbonization process, the manufacture of adhesives, mixing the adhesive with carbonized charcoal, the printing process, and the drying process of the finished briquettes. While the biomass stove is a medium for igniting briquettes or commonly called a combustion furnace. The aim of this final project is to find out the effect of the briquettes used on the quality produced and on the performance of the biomass stove. Based on the results of calculations and analyzes that have been carried out in this final project, the results obtained are the highest calorific value is around 6987.86 cal. /gr, The longest start-up time is about 4.30 minutes, the highest water temperature rise is about 85°C and the fire is burning for about 45 minutes. and the highest thermal efficiency of the biomass stove is around 88.92%.
