Abstract

The difference between the application of the cooperative principle proposed by Grice and what happened in Indonesia led to frequent violations of the principle of cooperation occur. This makes the authors interested in conducting research on violation of Grice's cooperation principle in the Corbuzier Podcast Anies program Answer on Youtube. The source of data in this research is activity language that occurs in the Corbuzier Podcast program Anies Reply at Youtube on November 24, 2021. The data in this study are all speeches which violates the principle of cooperation spoken by Deddy and the star guest in the Corbuzier Podcast Anies Answers program on Youtube. This research uses content analysis method. Data collection using documentation, listen, and record techniques. In this study, which often violations, namely, Anies Baswedan as a resource person. found 267 utterances and 95 utterances that violate the cooperative principle. Based on the research results, The maxims that are violated the most are the maxim of quantity and the maxim of relevance. The maxim that is rarely violated is the maxim of quality. Then, The maxim that is the least violated is the maxim of method/implementation. On maxim of quantity, found 49 utterances that violate the maxim. Often the occurrence of a violation of the maxim of quantity because, this program aims to to provide information according to the needs of the audience and the public, so that speakers often provide redundant information. Then, on the maxim of relevance also contains many utterances that violate, it is found that there are 40 utterances, This is because there are often conversations that do not match the rules in speaking and the lack of cooperation from the speech participants in giving information. In the maxim of quality found only 7 utterances that are violated, The maxim of quality is rarely violated because this event is formal and the participants are speaking have extensive knowledge, so that the conversation is orderly and informed presented in accordance with the facts. Then, in the maxim of how/implementation found 3 utterances that violate, this is because, in this event, presenters and resource persons have extensive knowledge, so it is rare use words that are difficult to understand or ambiguous. As for the reason the violation of the four maxims is clarity of information, seeking information, denial, affirmation, humor, lack of cooperation, friendliness, courtesy, small talk, secret. Even if there is a violation, if the interlocutor does not problem, then the conversation will continue to run well. Violation of Grice's maxims is a common occurrence occur. Cultural differences make Grice's cooperative principle invalid universal for all languages. Especially what happened in the Corbuzier program Anies Podcast Answers on Youtube.
