Abstract

The incompatibility of the placement of work fields with the competencies possessed by employees and the delivery of job information that is difficult to understand are aspects of employee job satisfaction. This study aims to analyze (1) the characteristics of employees. (2) the level of job satisfaction. (3) the factors that affect employee job satisfaction. The research method used is the survey method. The research site of PT. Geliga Bagan Riau in the Bagan Sinembah sub-district, Rokan Hilir Regency, Riau Province. The study was conducted from March to August 2022. Respondents in the study consisted of employees using the simple random sampling method by taking 24 employees. The results of this study indicate that (1) The majority of the gender of the employees are male with a percentage of 92%, the average age of the employees is 32 years, the average tenure of the employees is more than 10 years, the education of the employees is on average 12 years, the family dependents of the employees are on average 4 souls/person. (2) The highest level of satisfaction sequentially, namely: the aspect of co-workers score 98.25 satisfied category, aspect of the nature of work score 94.50 satisfied category, communication aspect score 93.47 satisfied category, operational condition aspect score 91.75 satisfied category, the aspect of allowances scores 90.25 in the satisfied category, the salary aspect with a score of 91.2 in the satisfied category, the supervision aspect in the score 87.75 in the satisfied category, in the benefit aspect in the category by 79.50 in the quite satisfied category, in the promotion aspect by a score of 78.75 in the quite satisfied category. (3) The results of the t test show that only the salary aspect has a significant effect on employee job satisfaction. This shows that the salary is the main goal of the employee's work and the value of the salary received symbolizes the satisfaction felt by the employee. While the results of the R2 test are known that 62.4% job satisfaction of employees of PT. Geliga Bagan Riau is determined by the variables of salary, promotion, supervision, allowances, benefits, operational conditions, co-workers, nature of work, and communication.
