Abstract

Language is a sound system that has rules. Language has the meaning to convey messages by all those who speak the language. The plurality that occurs makes many languages in certain areas, so it creates a shock effect. The U curve represents several phases experienced by newcomers, this phase is full of joy, hope, disappointment phase, initial phase of resolution, functioning and effective phase. In these phases, the informant feels the symptoms of culture shock. The informant feels a loss of identity due to the dominance of the new environment. the conclusion of language culture shock by immigrant communities in the Lenggadai Hulu Village, there are four stages of culture shock, namely the joy phase, the disappointment phase, the resolution phase and the effective functioning phase. And in each phase there are several dimensions, namely affective, behavior, cognitive, symptoms of culture shock experienced by informants, individuals experience sadness, and loneliness. The individual is not confident, the individual misses the family, the individual feels a loss of identity.
