Abstract

Legal protection for consumers in Indonesia has been provided by the government with the issuance of the Consumer Protection Act. The problem in this case is that the dentist not only violated the Consumer Protection Act but the Medical Practice Law, the Health Law and the Minister of Health Regulation Number 39 of 2014 concerning the Dentist Profession. The action of a dentist who practices outside his authority is an act against the law. Basically, dentists are only allowed to install and make dentures from acrylic material, not porcelain. But in reality, many dentists do their profession outside their authority. This causes harm to consumers because dentists do not perform according to the standards mandated by the current legislation. The main problem of this research is how is the responsibility of the health services of beautiful dentists in Tenayan Raya district, Pekanbaru city and how is the legal protection for users of beautiful dental health services in Tenayan Raya district, Pekanbaru city. The types of research used in this study are sociological and empirical law. Research is based on facts or behavior that occurs and grows in the community so that empirical law is a real act of every community due to the current law. The nature of this research is included in descriptive research that describes the facts studied in the field. The results of the study indicate that there are violations committed by dentists in carrying out their work that are not in accordance with the laws and regulations governing the work of dentists. This resulted in the emergence of victims who suffered losses. The government, which has the responsibility as a supervisor and supervisor, does not provide guidance and supervision to the work of dental experts, resulting in many violations by dentists, such as providing health services that exceed their authority.
