Abstract

As an archipelagic country, Indonesia has abundant water availability in the form of a lake and sea river, the energy contained in water is kinetic energy, kinetic energy can be used as a number of turbine players into mechanical energy, mechanical energy in turbines will be used as simple machinery players such as surroundings as well as generator driving as an electric producer. In this case the turbine used is Savonius turbine. Savonius batch turbine is a turbine which is basically a half circle and is in the form of a turbine shaft in the oppositely, Savonius turbines are kinetic power plants, if turbines are water called water turbines, small scale water turbines will be used in remote areas as a reduction in driving diesel engines generator. In this case researchers use turbinsavonius small scale water power batch that uses additional equipment in the form of deflector and flywheel as an increase in turbine performance. In this study I used the method of variation in the number of blades between 2 blades, 3 blades, 4 blades, and 5 blades with blade 1350 arc angle equipped with additional equipment in the form of deflector with a width and long 25 cm x 25 cm at an angle 600 and flywheel. With a weight of 2.5 kg, the generator as a turbine load used is 30 Watt Direct Current (DC). From the results of this study hopes to find the influence on turbine performance such as angular velocity (?), water power (PA) turbine power (PT), torque (T), and turbine efficiency (?T).
