Abstract

Basically narcotics are very necessary and have benefits in the fields of health and science, but the use of narcotics becomes dangerous if there is abuse or not in accordance with standard treatment. The police who are given the authority to prevent and eradicate criminal acts and become the spearhead in the initial position of implementing the justice system are obliged to carry out their duties and authorities as law enforcers. This is a challenge for the police to tackle and eradicate narcotics trafficking that has attacked all ages. The main problem in this research is how the authority of the Indonesian National Police in tackling child crime as narcotics courier in the Pekanbaru Police area and what are the obstacles in overcoming child crime as narcotics courier in the Pekanbaru Police District jurisdiction. The research method is using observational research research methods which are carried out by means of direct interviews with informants, while the nature of this research is descriptive analysis in which this research provides a clear and systematic description of the authority of the Indonesian National Police in tackling child crimes as narcotics couriers in the legal area of the Pekanbaru Police. Police efforts in tackling child crime as narcotics couriers in the jurisdiction of the Pekanbaru Police are by preventing the occurrence of child crimes as narcotics couriers by conducting outreach to schools which is a preemptive effort, making efforts with preventive efforts which include: This is done to prevent the circulation and abuse of narcotics, namely by raiding schools, and reensif efforts where one of the efforts made by the police is to take action against children's crimes as narcotics couriers in the Pekanbaru Police jurisdiction. Obstacles in overcoming child crime as narcotics couriers in the Pekanbaru Police jurisdiction, namely the lack of cooperation between the community or the family in preventing child crime as narcotics couriers and also the police being hampered because the filing time is too short.
