Abstract
This study aims to describe the teacher's role in terms of the teacher's role for children with special needs, especially the role of the Cultural Arts Teacher on Autism at the Melati Rumbai Special School Pekanbaru, Riau FY 2021/2022. The theory of the teacher's role used by the author to determine the role of the teacher (demonstator, class manager, mediator and facilitator, evaluator) in this writing is Rusman's (2016) theory. The method used by the author in this study is a qualitative method which is done by describing and describing things related to a situation. The data collection techniques used were observation techniques, interview techniques and documentation techniques. Data analysis by means of data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions. The results obtained by the authors in this study indicate that the role of teachers in children with special needs, especially Autistic Children at the Rumbai Special School, Pekanbaru Riau, as a demonstrator whose teacher explains learning very slowly and always keeps the students' mood, class manager whose teacher arranges seats in the class before starting learning, mediator and facilitator whose teacher provides unique media to attract students' attention, and evaluator who every teacher evaluate student progress in one semester.
