Abstract

Meranti Islands Regency has a lot of potential with a variety of attractions, such as natural and cultural attractions that are quite interesting that can be further developed as a National tourist attraction. One of them is the beach attraction of Bering Beras, Merbau Island District, Meranti Islands Regency. The government has carried out promotional activities and provided infrastructure facilities but is still very limited, so more Development Strategies are needed to increase tourist interest. The theoretical concept used in this study is the theory of Sondang P. Siagian (2012), SWOT Analysis. The method used in this research is a qualitative method using a descriptive approach. Collected using interview and documentation techniques. The results of this study indicate that the Development Strategy undertaken by the Meranti Islands Regency Government has not been maximized. This can be seen from the unavailability of adequate facilities and infrastructure. The factors are human resources and financial resources. In developing this tourism object, collaboration with related parties is needed, and moreover the Government must improve the quality of work, especially in utilizing time.
