Abstract
Chromosomes in humans are important material in studying inheritance. Generally, the learning system in schools is still book-oriented and verbal delivery by teachers at SMAN 1 Painan. Less effective explanations can have an impact on students' lack of understanding and interest in learning. Augmented Reality technology can help in the learning process of recognizing human chromosomes because it is one type of "mixed reality (MR)" where a digital object or object that is in a virtual environment is inserted into the real environment. This learning media application is made using the markerless method and the ARCore SDK library. To create an Augmented Reality learning media application, Unity 3D software is used, while 3D objects are made using Blender software. Based on the test results, 3D objects can appear at a distance of 10 cm to 250 cm. Meanwhile, at a distance that starts at ? 300 cm, the object cannot appear, the light intensity is above 0 lux and the tracking object is plain white paper, textured objects, and objects with uneven surfaces. Based on the results of user testing, a percentage of 88% was obtained with 30 respondents, so this application can be implemented as a learning medium for the introduction of human chromosomes.
