Abstract
Indragiri Hilir Regency is one of the rice barns in Riau Province and is the largest contributor to rice production in Riau Province. This study aims to analyze: (1) Characteristics of farmers and rice farming profiles of tidal lowland; (2) Cultivation techniques, use of inputs, costs, and income for tidal rice farming; (3) Factors affecting production; (4) technical efficiency, allocative efficiency and economic efficiency of tidal rice farming. This research was conducted in Kempas Jaya Village, Kempas District, Indragiri Hilir Regency, Riau Province. The research sample was selected using the Proportional Stratified Random Sampling method with a total of 50 farmers. The data analysis used includes descriptive analysis, DEA (Data Envelopment Analysis), and Tobit regression analysis. The results showed that: (1) The characteristics of farmers showed that the average productive age (52.78 years), middle level education (8.80 years), had long farming experience (21.70 years), and had dependents. small family (3 people). (2) The technique of lowland rice cultivation is in accordance with existing standards. The average production cost incurred by farmers is Rp. 17,413,248/MT which consists of variable costs of Rp. 17,295,425/MT (99.32%) and fixed costs of Rp. 117,823/MT (0.68%). The average gross income earned was Rp. 27,243,900/MT (with GKP production of 6,054 kg/MT and GKP price of Rp. 4,500/kg) and net income of Rp. 9,830,652/MT. Farming RCR is 1.56, which means lowland rice farming is profitable and feasible to cultivate. (3) The factors that significantly (significantly) affect the production of tidal paddy rice farming are insecticides and herbicides. (4) The results of the efficiency analysis show that most of the lowland rice farmers are technically efficient, but only a small proportion are allocatively and economically efficient. The additional potential profit that can be obtained from lowland rice farming by combining inputs optimally is 33.89% of the actual condition.
