Abstract
Sweet starfruit is one of the horticultural plants that are have a much of benefits that are often consumed by peoples as a fulfillment of vitamin needs and as a medicine for hypertension. Minas District has one of the starfruit producing areas in Siak Regency, Riau Province. Demand and production that tends to increase, therefore sweet starfruit farming has a prospects to be developed. This study aims to analyze 1) Farmer characteristics and profiles of sweet starfruit farming 2) Non-financial feasibility of sweet starfruit farming 3) Financial feasibility and sensitivity of sweet starfruit farming. Survey method was used in this study and was carried out in Minas District, Siak Regency, Riau Province. This research was conducted for 6 months started from December 2021–May 2022. The determination of the sample was carried out by purposively sampling methods to take 10 farmers from a population of 35 sweet starfruit farmers with the consideration that the farmers who will be sampled have more than 100 producing sweet starfruit trees. The data used in this study were sourced from primary and secondary data. The type of data used consists of quantitative and qualitative descriptive analysis. Based on the research results, the average age of sweet starfruit farmers in Minas was 50.5 years, ranging from 42-61 years old, the average education level was 9 years, business experience was 19.2 years, family dependents are 5 peoples. From the results of the non-financial feasibility analysis, sweet starfruit farming was feasible to be cultivated and developed based on technical, market and marketing, as well as economic and social aspects. Based on the results of the financial feasibility analysis, sweet starfruit farming was feasible to operated and develop, because it has met the investment criteria with an value are NPV Rp.517,921,323> 0, Net B/C 1.96> 1, IRR 16%> prevailing interest rates (in this case 6%) and with PP 8 years 5 months 7 days from the business projection. Based on the sensitivity of sweet starfruit farming, it was more sensitive to a decrease in product selling prices by 5.15% compared to an increase in input prices of the same magnitude, which was 5.15%. With NPV Rp.326,239,673, Net B/C 1.62, IRR 13% , PP was 9 years 9 months 9 Days.
