Abstract

In reporting news, the media has the ability to construct and frame a reality. Researchers consider that the case of the covid-19 social aid corruption conviction in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic has grabbed public attention and is widely discussed by online media in different media perspectives. This study aims to analyze how the framing of the news of the corruption verdict of the Juliari coal covid-19 social aid program in the Okezone.com editions of August 23 and 24, 2021. This research uses a qualitative method that is descriptive by using the framing analysis of the pan and kosicki models where there are four structures of analysis of this model, namely syntactic structure, script structure, thematic structure and rhetorical structure. The results showed that Okezone.com in reporting the events of the Corruption Conviction of the Covid-19 Social Aid Program Juliari was more towards partiality towards APH (law enforcement officers) in this case Judges and Prosecutors. Where Okezone.com more information on the results of Juliari's verdict and the efforts/performance of the APH. In the news compiled and displayed Okezone.com the majority based on the point of view of the panel of judges, Okezone.com did not present specifically the sources who were pros and cons of Juliari's conviction.
