Abstract

Arisan is an activity carried out by a group of people to collect a certain amount of money regularly at one time. After the money is collected, a lottery is conducted to find out which group member will win to get the money. In Indonesia, arisan has become part of the traditions or customs of the people. There are various forms of arisan that are often followed or carried out by the community, one of which is the arisan decreases which is a form of arisan which refers to the different amounts of dues between members of the arisan. The main problems in this research are how the implementation of arisan decreases in Pangkalan Kerinci District and how Islamic law views the decline in Arisan in Pangkalan Kerinci District. This research is classified as field research. While the nature of this research is descriptive analysis. The population in this study is the admin as the arisan manager, all arisan members and the chairman of the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) Pelalawan Regency as representatives of religious leaders. The results of this study indicate that the implementation of the declining arisan is not in accordance with the basic principles of muamalah, such as the principle of balance or al-is, because the arisan payment system varies between members. In addition, there is an element of usury in it because of the excess payment and the difference between the money paid and the one received and there is an element of gharar or trickery.
