Abstract

PTPN V Kebun Terantam is one of the producers of palm oil in Tapung Hulu District, Kampar Regency. Employee income is influenced by several factors, namely differences in class and premium. This study aims to analyze (1) the characteristics of harvest employees (2) the components of income based on the payroll system, infrastructure and working hours (3) income and contribution to household income. This research method is a survey method in PTPN V Terrestam Gardens which was conducted in July to December 2019. Data analysis used descriptive analysis. Sampling is done randomly (Random Sampling), from 10 afdeling each taken 4 harvest employees, so that the total sample of 40 harvest employees. The results showed that: (1) the average age of harvest employees was 46 years, the average length of education was 9 years, the average work experience was 21.5 years and the average number of family dependents was 2 people. (2) the payroll system is conducted once a month, salaries obtained in the form of basic salary and premiums, facilities and infrastructure contained in PTPN V include economic, security, education, health, worship and social facilities and working hours starting from 06.00-14.00 ( 8 hours a day) start to fill in the attendance list until the collection of fruit to TPH (yield collection place). (3) average income from work as an employee of Rp. 4,454,383 / month, income from side jobs in agriculture namely rubber and palm oil averaged Rp. 1,587,500 / month, income from non-agricultural part-time work, namely, the stall business, on average Rp. 271,250 / month and contribution to total household income is 70.69%. This shows that salaries as harvest employees can make a significant contribution to the total household income of harvest employees.
