Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the interaction effect and the main effect of swallow droppings and Organic NPK on the growth and production of white eggplant (Solanum melongena L.). This research was carried out in the experimental garden of the Faculty of Agriculture, Islamic University of Riau, for 5 months starting from February to June 2022. The design used in this study was a Factorial Completely Randomized Design consisting of two factors. The first factor is the dose of swallow dung (W) with 4 treatment levels, namely 0, 0.5, 1, 1.5 kg per plot and the second factor is the dose of Organic NPK (N) with 4 treatment levels, namely 0, 6.25, 12.50, 18.75 g per plant so that 16 treatment combination. Each treatment consisted of 3 replications so that 48 experimental units were obtained. Parameters observed were plant height, age of flowering, age of harvest, number of fruit planted, weight of fruit planted, weight of fruit per fruit, and number of fruit residues. The data were analyzed by analysis of variance and continued with the honest real difference test (BNJ) at the 5% level. The results showed that the interaction of swallow dung and organic NPK was significant on the parameters of plant height, flowering age, harvest age, number of fruit per plant, fruit weight per plant, and number of fruit residues. The best treatment was a combination of 1.5 kg swallow manure per plot and 18.75 g Organic NPK per plant (W3N3). The main effect of swallow droppings was real on all parameters. The best treatment was a dose of 1.5 kg swallow droppings per plot (W3). The main effect of organic NPK was significant on all parameters. The best treatment was the dose of organic NPK 18.75 g per plant (N3).
