Abstract
This study aims to determine the interaction effect and the main effect of the types of Biological Fertilizer and NPK 16:16:16 on the growth and production of purple eggplant. This research was carried out in the experimental garden of the Faculty of Agriculture, Islamic University of Riau, for four months starting from October 2021 to January 2022. The design used was a factorial Completely Randomized Design consisting of two factors. The first factor is the application of fertilizer which consists of 4 levels of treatment, namely 0 ml/l, 6 ml/l, 9 ml/l, 12 ml/l, and the second factor is the provision of NPK 16:16:16 which consists of 4 levels, namely 0 , 5, 10, 15 g/plant to obtain 48 experimental plots. Each plot unit consisted of 4 plants, and 2 plants as samples. Parameters observed were plant height, age of flowering, age of harvest, number of fruit planted, weight of fruit planted, weight of fruit per fruit, and number of remaining fruit from planting. Observational data from each treatment were statistically analyzed and continued with the further test of Honest Significant Difference (BNJ) at the 5% level. Based on the results of the research that has been carried out, it can be concluded that the interaction of giving Biological Fertilizer and NPK 16:16:16 significantly affected plant height, flowering age, harvest age, number of fruit per plant, fruit weight per plant, and fruit weight per fruit with the best treatment. namely Biofertilizer 12 ml/l and NPK 16:16:16 15 g/plant. The main effect of giving Biological Fertilizer was significant on plant height, flowering age, harvest age, number of fruits per plant, weight of fruit planted, and weight of fruit per fruit. The best treatment is Biofertilizer 12 ml/l. The main effect of NPK 16:16:16 was significant on plant height, flowering age, harvest age, number of fruits per plant, weight of fruit planted, and weight of fruit per fruit. The best treatment was NPK 16:16:16 15 g/plant.
