Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of Petrobio and NPK Mutiara 16:16:16 fertilizer on the growth and production of tomato plants. This research was carried out in the experimental garden of the Faculty of Agriculture, Riau Islamic University, Jalan Kharudin Nasution, No. 113, Air Cold Village, Bukit Raya District, Pekanbaru City, Riau. The study was conducted for five months, from July to November 2021. This study used a completely randomized design, consisting of 2 factors, the first factor was Petrobio Dose which consisted of 4 levels, namely: 0, 0.75, 1.5 and 2.25 grams per plant. The second factor is the dose of NPK Mutiara 16:16:16 which consists of 4 levels, namely: 0, 5, 10 and 15 grams per plant. Observation parameters were: plant height, number of productive branches, flowering age, harvest age, number of fruit per plant, fruit weight per plant, fruit weight per fruit and fruit residue. The data from the observations of each treatment were statistically analyzed and continued with the Honestly Significant Difference (BNJ) test at the 5% level. The results showed that the interaction effect of Petrobio and NPK Mutiara 16:16:16 was significant on plant height, number of productive branches, flowering time, harvest age, number of fruit per plant, fruit weight per plant, and fruit residue. The best treatment was found in Petrobio 2.25 grams per plant and NPK Mutiara 16:16:16 15 grams per plant. The main effect of Petrobio was significant on all plant parameters, with the best treatment being 2.25 grams per plant, and the main effect of NPK Mutiara 16:16:16 was significant on all plant parameters. The best treatment is 15 grams per plant.
