Abstract

Nowadays, the use of digital technology such as mobile devices and applications is often found in almost every level of education. It is designed to improve student experience and performance in the classroom, creating a fun and engaging learning atmosphere in the classroom. One of them is Padlet. This study aims to determine students' perceptions on the use of Padlets in Essay Writing class. Twenty-eight students in English Language Education of UIR in class 3 B are selected participants. The focus of this research is based on the theory of TAM by Davis (1996) there are four indicators, namely: Perceived Ease of Use, Perceived Usefulness, Attitude toward Usage, and Actual System Use. This research as conducted with a Descriptive Qualitative Method with a case study approach to explore in-depth information about students' perceptions. Close-ended questionnaires and semi-structured interviews were used for this research instrument. The final result of this research, the students showed a positive perceptions on using Padlet in their Essay Writing class. Padlet offers a fun and engaging learning environment for students. In addition to the Perceived Ease of Use when using Padlet, Perceived Usefulness when using Padlet such as improving writing skills and motivating in learning. Then the attitude towards using Padlet, and the actual system usage in Padlet. However, one aspect that needs to be considered while using Padlet like unstable internet connection. Overall, Padlet makes a significant contribution as a medium in the Essay Writing class.
