Abstract

Thesis Pekanbaru: English Study Program, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Universitas Islam Riau. SMAN 1 Rengat has conducted limited face-to-face learning in the morning and online learning in the afternoon, which has been conducted since the decline in COVID-19 cases. This means that students must adapt to learning in these conditions. Therefore, the researchers focused to find out the level of students’ satisfaction with online learning as compare to offline learning. The research was done under a qualitative e method methodology and described in brief. The subject of this research was third gradestudents of SMAN 1 RENGAT. The sample of this research was 65 students. The instrument of this research is questionnaire, there were 17 statements. There were 6 indicators of this research that are Instructor, technology, set up, interaction, outcome, and overall satisfaction. The results showed that the satisfaction of SMAN 1 Rengat students with online learning was less satisfied than offline learning. As evidenced by the results of the study that of the 6 indicators, only 1 indicator is included in the enough satisfied category and 5 indicators are in the less satisfied category. The survey's findings suggest that because of the teacher's lack of feedback, the lack of connection, and the inadequate networking, students are less satisfied with online learning. When they learn online, students get bored. Students are more excited about learning when compared to offline learning because they can communicate directly with the teacher and their peers; they can question the teacher directly if they are having problems; and they feel eager about participating in class discussions.
