Abstract

Based on Law Number 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics, narcotics are substances or drugs that can be used to treat certain diseases. However, if it is misused or not used in accordance with current medical standards, it will have a negative impact on individuals and society, especially the younger generation. Of course, related to this, if it is accompanied by the circulation and abuse of narcotics, it will further harm the life of cultural values ??that exist in society, and ultimately weaken the nation's resistance to adversity. Like the narcotics cases that occurred in the Pasir Penyu Police area from 2018-2020 there were as many as 22 cases. The problem that the author examines in this study is about the police's efforts in controlling narcotics trafficking in the jurisdiction of the Pasir Penyu Police Sector and the obstacles in overcoming the circulation of narcotics in the jurisdiction of the Pasir Penyu Police. The type of research used in this study is observational, namely in the form of a survey, which is carried out directly in the field to obtain data or information from respondents in the field by conducting interviews. This research was conducted in the jurisdiction of the Pasir Penyu Police. The data used in this study are primary data and secondary data. Data collection tools using interviews. The population and sample are the parties related to the problems in this study. The data analysis used is a qualitative technique. From the results of this study, it is explained that the police efforts carried out by the Pasir Penyu Police in dealing with narcotics trafficking are through preventive (prevention) and repressive (enforcement) efforts. Preventive efforts are carried out by providing counseling to junior high, high school, and community leaders. While the repressive efforts, namely the police must first collect information from the community, after that the Pasir Turtle Police take action to arrest someone suspected of being the perpetrator of narcotics dealers and users. The obstacles faced by the Pasir Turtle Police are seen from several factors, including: community factors, personnel factors, and also facilities and infrastructure factors.
