Abstract

This research was motivated by the problem of moral building that happened to students in grade VIII Technology Junior High School Pekanbaru. The students’ problems about it related to came late and truant the lesson, students did not collect the homework, they told lie, and cheating. Also, some of them did not pay what they bought in cafeteria, some of them were doing dating. Students should show good moral. In solving this condition, it needed good family environment. The purpose in this research was to know the influence of family environment on students’ moral building in grade VIII Technology Junior High School Pekanbaru. This research used quantitative design with correlational approach. The population and sample in this research were 78 students by using saturated sampling, because they were less than 100 persons, data collecting technique used questionnaire and documentation. In hypothesis test result showed the significant score 0.000, it could be meant that there was an influence of family environment on students’ moral building in grade VIII technology junior high school Pekanbaru. The big influence could be seen from summary table with R Square with 0.166 or 16.6%. it showed that moral building was influenced by family environment in 16.6 % with very low criterion. It could be concluded that there was influence of family environment on students’ moral building in grade VIII technology junior high school Pekanbaru.
